I think it was £750/2 for 2 weeks. So our share was £375.
I'm confused that no one else has done it All 4 of us were either easy going people (remember there is no kids on this holiday) or we were just plane lucky As this was our 1st time we spent most of the time out of the townhouse at either parks... would go back to DC in a heartbeat (you can stick Epcot up your ) ) or shopping. It was nice to ask them their advice on where the best malls were etc. IMHO I really would recommend a newbie doing it. I certainly would consider it again when they go back in 3-4 years time. Nb, a MUST is having separate cars... Can't really do that with a narrow boat PS. When we normally go away we don't speak to anyone other than the waiter as we like our own space... Confusing! |

We invited a school friend last February to spend two weeks with us, as she was just getting over the death of her father.
Well never again, she had a free holiday on us, we took her out for 5 meals, and then she didn't want to take us for a cheap meal at Golden Correl on the last night. This was after she had spent over $1,000 on jewelry for herself. She said, I will have to come again next winter. Guess what! A BIG NO. I wouldn't mind she ownes a three bedroom flat in St. John's Wood. This winter trip we will be on our own. Melvin and Lesley

Cheeky lady OP - given the very high cost of flights, car hire, park tickets etc, saving £30 a night would NOT make this something I would do, sorry

I better cancel my annual leave then
I saw it that we were staying in a VERY small boutique hotel. One with only 2 rooms. We all came and went as we pleased, we each didn't use the other couples bathroom... That was a must in my eyes, and the day/night we spend doing the same thing together (MNSSHP) we both went in our own cars and only met up, accudentily, 1/2 way though the night to compare out trick or treat booty. |

I think it's probably easier with strangers than friends. Friends will expect more from you. Want to spend days together etc. With this arrangement it was clearly separate holidays.
But it doesn't appeal to me. |

From what I can see you had separate holidays and just shared a roof, it worked well for you as both of you had your own plans without relaying on each other, so why not if it helped you keep within your budget, the main thing is both couples had a great holiday with no hassles.

Bingo
So I'll ask my question again. Has anyone shared a villa with a stranger... I think that's what I said... I finished the red wine now and I think it's time for bed |
