Plumbers (or Mr Morrow)

I have someone in at the moment doing up our downstairs loo... He said get any wall hung toilet, he'll sort the cistern out and buy any flush plate... so I did... well now he's saying this flush plate must be faulty and the hoses don't fit the pipes at the back,

I have a friend who's a plumber (who couldn't fit us in) who says the cistern brand and the flush plate brand need to match.

Who's right?

From my experience there are a few that you can use sort of universally but some are unique to the manufacturer.

I would say your friend plumber is more right than the plumber doing the job.

Do you know the cistern frame manufacturer?

You should be able to work backwards from there and find something suitable / suitably finished.

It might mean a bit of remedial work but it shouldn't need to be ripped out.

The wall hung frame must match the flush plate. Had one in my last house and another in this house.

I’ve ordered the ‘wrong’ type before so know from experience!, I simply ordered a new flush plate 😊

Louise. What access do you have to the Cistern? I assume you can get in to the top via a lift up shelf or something?
