Flew to Miami in February. Drove from airport to Florida Pines on the US27. Boring drive especially as Mrs T doesn't drive.
Stopped for something to eat at a rest stop. Got a bit weary near to the villa but otherwise didn't find it an issue.

I've done it many times straight off the flight and personally I really enjoy it. It's a very easy drive, stop off at a petrol station en route for snacks, drinks etc... and I find it goes really quickly.
Completely down to personal opinion and comfort whether you do it straight from a flight and you'll get conflicting thoughts on here as it's totally down to the individual. However my opinion is it's an easy, straight forward, enjoyable drive after the flight (although I do hugely enjoy driving in the US). |

We have done it once, landed after a very long day with connecting flight through Heathrow and Chicago so landed after 10pm. We stayed the night in an airport hotel and then drove up to Orlando early the next morning. It’s a simple drive, I thought we had taken the toll route but it turns out we hadn’t. I would definitely consider it again if the price was right.

we did it last year, albeit from Fort Lauderdale not Miami. Drove straight up and I found it a nice easy drive. I was looking to book into Miami this time and driving straight up again but have found some good flights into MCO end of March next year, can't wait, despite everything that is going on. good luck

We have done it I am the only driver landed at 2pm on the road 4.30, decided enroute whether to make the drive or whether to decided to make it in one hit so booked accom via expedia on ipad at the services. Forst half of drive is OK second half very boring and there are not really any hotels so you need to decide at this point of you need to stop or not.
Next time we would do the same not book first nights accom and decide on route there is so much accom in Florida its never a problem. My issue is that if we stopped overnight in Miami it makes the travel day become two |
