I’m not an overly sweary person, but I do swear, usually when I am stressed or angry. But I swear in a ranty sort of way, I would never actually call someone a rude word. However, I do think there is a time and a place for swearing, personally I think it all depends on where you are and what you are doing. I.e. I would never swear at work as it’s not at all appropriate, but out with friends and having a few drinks, I do swear then, but again, would depend where I was. I never use the C word though. I read an article a while ago which said swearing helps you to deal with pain, so cursing when you stub your toe is actually a healthy thing to do!

I worked with kids for a while - so Sugar lumps shouted is a really big swearword in our house... totally meaningless, but the tone of voice lets you know very, very, quickly that it is indeed swearing.
