BA flight only and BA Holidays are dealt with separately as they use different systems. A straightforward paid for with a credit/debit card flight only booking tends to be fairly quick for a refund. Any booking such as Cash with part paid in Avios or an upgraded booking or something which is out of the ordinary sometimes has to be manually calculated by a "back office team" and it is these type of bookings that are taking a lot longer than usual due to a number of factors. Just keep an eye on your booking and chase it up after your 3 week period. Hope you don't have to wait much longer.

Thanks Stanley! Yes, our flight only booking should be straightforward- cash on credit card - so I’m not sure why it’s taking longer. We have a separate issue with our pre-paid seating which was cash plus Avios as they very quickly refunded both cash and Avios but only 50% so that’s being looked into but shouldn’t affect the flight refund? I’ll try to be patient a little longer and hope it gets sorted soon 🤞
