What I have is slightly different, I have the Wi-Fi plug in the lounge (my main router/Wi-fi id down the other end of the house) sending my same Wi-Fi signal, but I also have an Ethernet cable coming out the plug to a switching box for PS4, Fire Tv, BT tv, blue ray prayer and tv. But I also have a old BT router Wi-Fi, transmitting a second Wi-fi signal.
The lads bedroom upstairs also has the Wi-fi plug transmitting main Wi-fi signal and his desktop plugged in by Ethernet.
I realised when I was reading this that’s I had an old sky hub just sitting in a box so after a bit of faffing about I’ve managed to set that up in my living room so we now have two hubs and extended WiFi across the house.

All good!

However as I have setup the second hub (and this is relaying the signal from the main hub) when selecting WiFi networks both come up separately.

Is this right? Or is there a way of just having one network to choose from?

It’s not a massive issue but would be easier if I could just hook on to one network and not have to switch to choose the stronger signal.

you should be able to rename the wifi signal so both are the same and if you set the password to the same you equipment will just jump between the two.
Have to ask did you set you second up as an extender , so it gets the IP address from the main router if not you may want to do that also.

Yes this is how I set it up as an extender.

At the moment they have slightly different names but the same password.

If I name them exactly the same will only one ‘name’ appear? Or will 2 names appear that are the same when a device searches for WiFi?

Only 1 name should appear. I think the Wireless security type will need to be the same type, as well as the SSID and password.

As you have Sky, it might be worth upgrading to Sky Q as the boxes act as wireless extenders (with built in powerline). I was able to negotiate the upgrade for free with a lower monthly fee than I was previously paying.
