August direct flights

Need some help, looking to visit next August but want to do my flights seperately.

Can anyone quote how much they paid for direct flights in August (our dates are 13th-27th so if anybody has any similar, even better!)

Don't want to pay the earth but do realise it is peak summer holidays so at the moment I'm budgeting £800-900. Have been quoted by Disney to add on flights with Virgin at £1125pp for my party of 5 adults. Does anyone else agree that this is extortionate?

Budget for £1k for adults and £800 for children.

You will find cheaper indirect flights but if you are looking at direct my estimate will be fairly accurate - sadly!

You may get around £800 to £900 with Thomas Cook, if you are lucky.

We paid about £800 last August, 20/8 - 3/9 so your dates will be a bit more. Virgin want to charge us £4300 for 3 adults and a child for next August which is way more than I'm hoping to pay

Hi

Last year we flew indirect with United 10th - 26th August and paid £665 per person. This year we are flying direct with Thomas Cook 10th - 24th August and we paid £725 per person including reserved seats. Both times we booked around 4 months before flying so it may be we could have got a better deal if we were ready to book earlier.

Good luck!

They're the exact dates we're flying next year too! Last August I got flights with Virgin via Netflights for £650pp which were direct going and 1-stop at JFK coming back. I'd ideally like to get a similar deal for next year, but would like to change at Dublin if possible. I just keep checking Skyscanner once the flights come out in September, and keep looking until I find ones I'm happy with. Around £850-£950 for direct does seem the norm unfortunately.
