Beauties & The Beast Day 7, Shopping, Bahama Breeze
Day 7 Wednesday 12 September 2007
Dollar_Bill AKA Bill Jools AKA Jools Double_Trouble AKA Vicky and Alison I slept very well last night and didn’t wake up until 7.30 which is quite an achievement for me. I suspect Bill may have something to do with my long lie in but I’ll come to that later. The girls were going to Busch Gardens today. We had nothing planned. The girls left for Busch at around 9am and Bill got up shortly after that. I wanted to get some new training shoes so after breakfast we went left the villa to go to the Premium Outlets. Now Bill had had the Lonestar Chilli soup the night before. As we waited for the lift to take us from the 6th floor to the ground floor (well OK the first floor as the US does not recognize the ground floor), Bill acted in a very unsociable manner, leaving me in no doubt that he’s been at the chilli with jalepeno peppers the night before. I was gagging in the lift and hoping no one else would get in. Luckily we reached the ground/first floor without any unsuspecting souls joining us on our journey down. Imagine my embarrassment when a couple smiled at us as we got out and they got in. Bill was laughing and I was just well plain mortified really. The lift doors shut and then we could hear them gagging. The lady who got in was pregnant and I just hope her baby was not starved of oxygen as a result of Bill’s anti social behaviour. I also wondered if that was the reason why I slept all night for a change – a lack of oxygen in the room meaning I couldn’t possibly wake up. I have to say I was not going to include this incident in this trip report, but Bill, Michelle and Neil have all encouraged me to do so. Anyway after a few swift gasps on my inhaler to help oxygenate my lungs again we got in the car and set off for the Premium Outlets. I don’t really know why we opted to go to the Premium as we never actually buy anything there. The same was true today although that may change next Tuesday. Why Tuesday you may ask? Well I picked up a card which said for seniors (over 50’s) to present this card on Tuesdays to receive a 10% discount. So I reckon we will return on Tuesday as Bill has reached that half century milestone (you’d think he’d know how to behave in a lift at his age though). Whilst we were in the Nike store our new Trac-phone rang. It had to be Neil or Michelle as no one else has the number. It was Neil, they were at MGM but were about to go to Bill’s favorite Florida attraction – Circuit City, so we arranged to meet them there as we wanted to go to a shop near there anyway. Bill could hardly contain his glee at the thought of visiting his favorite place again. I was less than thrilled. Here is photo of my reaction to seeing Circuit City for my first time this holiday. We met Michelle, Neil and Stephanie and had a look around the store. Thank goodness they have a decent CD selection so I was not totally bored. No one bought anything – hmm this was becoming a recurring theme. Next we all went to the Florida Mall. Michelle and Steph wanted some clothes for their cruise and Neil wanted a new lens for his camera. Bill just likes to loiter in camera shops so we went along with them. When everyone had bought something we went to the food court for lunch. Bill and I had Charley’s steak sandwiches, which were delicious. Michelle and Neil had the same and Steph had something from the Chinese take away. We then went back to he Fountains, leaving the others still shopping in the mall. We went straight to the pool for a swim. It is pretty quiet at the resort at this time of year so we pretty well had the pool to ourselves, which was great. We then decided to try the hot tub thinking it would be good for Bill’s dodgy knee. Well this must have been the hottest hot tub ever. It was much hotter than any bath I’d run at home. We could only stay n it for 5 minutes before getting back into the swimming pool. We loafed around for a while by the pool. I was reading and Bill was sleeping before we went back inside to shower and change. We were meeting up with Michelle, Neil and Steph at six o’clock at Bahama Breeze (or banana breeze as my friend Sara calls it ) We were all early, arriving at 5.45 and there were lots of tables available. It took us a while to decide on what to drink (well it took Michelle and I a while). In the end I opted for a pina colada and Michelle had an apple martini (note for Michelle, if I’ve got that wrong please feel free to edit and correct this post). Steph had a non alcoholic cocktail and Neil and Bill had soft drinks. No one had starters and for main courses we had Neil and Steph – Ribs Michelle – chicken pasta Bill – beef kabobs Jools – barbecue chicken breast with garlic mashed potato. We all enjoyed our main courses although no one could actually finish them all. Edited at 06:07 PM. |

Then we had dessert.
Neil and Jools – a scrummy banana and ice cream thing (I can’t remember the name as I had a second pina colada) Bill – key lime pie, as recommended by Fiona of the Dibb Steph – vanilla ice cream. We all agreed we’d had a lovely meal and went our separate ways afterwards. Michelle, Neil and Steph were looking forward to joining their Disney cruise the following day and were off to do their last minute preparations. We returned to the Fountains hoping that Vicky and Ali had enjoyed their day out at Busch Gardens, and wondered if they’d returned yet. When we reached our villa the girls were back, tired but happy and had had a great day. Vicky was already in bed and Ali was in her PJ’s. Bill ordered the Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer (or something like that) from the in room movie service and he and Ali settled down to watch it, and I typed up the day’s trip report whilst sitting on the lovely warm balcony. It had been a very good day spent with friends. Another good night’s sleep would be just the ticket to end it nicely. Edited at 06:08 PM. |

OMG - How grown up is Stephanie! I am still thinking of her as being the little girl from the beach, and she's gone and grown up
At first glance I thought it was Natalie at the table, although I don't suppose either will thank me for saying that. |
