That was good, can we ride again - Day 12
Day Twelve - Tuesday, 12th October 2010
Typhoon Lagoon Again, no snaps today - sorry This morning was a water park day and after having such fun at Blizzard Beach we were really looking forward to it. We decided on Typhoon Lagoon today, even though the kids wanted to go back to BB I thought it would be best to try the other one - how wrong was I? Arrived at Typhoon Lagoon just after 10am and headed to the kids area. There wasn't enough to do for the girl here and I was already getting moaned at by the hubby cos it wasn't as good as Blizzard Beach. Went in the lazy river and enjoyed the relaxing a bit then went on the family raft ride which wasn't as good as the one at BB either so we decided to leave earlier than planned and head to Downtown Disney. On the way to the changing room however we did spent a further 20 mins or so in the wave pool then went over to Crush n Gusher where I rode with the girl. Having pulled the bloody donut thing to the top of the stairs, the girl had a total freak out and refused to get on! After much persuasion and bribery she eventually got on and we went down the slide (someone could have warned me about your butt getting whacked - ouch) she cried part of the way and laughed the rest. At the bottom she went in a mood and said she hated it. Cue daddy - "oh you didn't like it? Shame, I wanted to go on with you" to which the girl smiled and said "ok dad, it wasn't too bad" (don't you just love children!). So off they went for 2 more goes whilst I took the boy to the changing rooms to get dressed. Once changed we went to Planet Hollywood for dinner. Thought this was over-hyped to be honest, very similar to hard rock but I preferred Hard Rock. Having just been to a water park I found the air con too cold. No pudding in PH as I wanted to try Ghirardelli. Firstly, went to the chocolate shop in error but were all give a free chocolate so that was ok. Wow - such choice. No-one would share a sundae with me and I knew I couldn't eat a whole one alone so we decided on 2 kids mint choc chip (you get a little goodie bag with it too), my husband got a coffee tub and was asked if he wanted one or two scoops, he had one. I got a chocolate rainbow waffle cone but didn't get asked how many scoops. I was a bit miffed until I got the cone, bloody hell it was huge. The receipt said one scoop but I don't believe it, I'm sure mine was twice the size of the hubbys, I couldn't finish the monster. But it was very, very nice all the same. Then after a wander around DTD and a quick stop for a couple of chocolate coated strawberries we went to DisneyQuest for a few hours until the kids (hubby included) got tired and narky. Hubby didn't like it here but I had quite a lot of fun. I beat the hubby on guitar hero (although in fairness he stopped halfway through to stop the kids fighting and then got all moody and left me to play alone - although I was winning beforevthat anyway ), tried to do the dance mat thing but we didn't know any songs and it was quite difficult. Kids wandered about trying just about everything. The girl and I did the dinosaur raft type ride before leaving, that was quite fun. Can't remember what time we headed home for but I would guess around 9pm. Todays spends: Planet Hollywood - kids tenders, kids chicken, kids soda, kids shake, veg fajitas, chicken penne pasta, 2 x soda = $71.73 before tip Ghirardelli - 2 kids one scoop cones, 1 scoop goblet, 1 scoop waffle with sprinkles = $17.95 Candy Cauldron - 3 milk choc strawberries = $8.42
