Chazy & Ben Go Back To The West Coast - Warner Bros/Ellen/Hollywood Mon 8th Sept

We got up about 7 and left the room just after 8:15. Luckily the bus arrived on time at 8:30 as it started to rain :-( We got to the studios at just after 9 and wandered round the shop.

As the Deluxe Tour is at 10:15 we grabbed a quick Starbucks for breakfast and waited for the tour to start. I had fruit & water, Ben had a morning bun, iced tea and fruit. It came to $13.85.

We had a great guide called Amanda! We held a real Oscar!

Lunch was served in the Commissary at 12pm.

Ben had beef soup & I had splitpea soup for starters.

I had pasta for main and Ben had pizza.

The desserts were a little platter of brownies/cookies/krispy bites.

After lunch we saw the sets of Mentalist and a new show called Selfie.

The tour over ran slightly but our guide was awesome! We had googled online about tipping and it suggested 15%. We only had $33 cash so gave that. We got back to the main entrance just before 4pm. As we got back we got asked if we wanted to watch a filming of Ellen. Of course we said yes! Anna Ferris was doing an American Ninja Warrior assault course outside and they needed a live audience!

The show was taped at 5pm and finished at 6pm. It is due to be aired this Friday. We weren't allowed to take phones etc so waited to get our bags and we headed to the bus stop. We arrived back in Hollywood at 7pm and headed to the hotel for a little rest!

We headed back out just after half 8 for dinner at Mel's.

Ben had southern fried chicken with a sam adams beer and I had short ribs with a sprite.

Dinner came to $50 including tip. Back to the hotel for 10pm!

That Warner Bros tour is awesome and I much prefer it over the Universal backstage tour. Where you saw the Batman stuff was all Harry Potter when we were there. I gather Paramount also do tours so that's one on our list for next time. So glad you had a great day.

It was fab, expensive but for 5 hours it's so worth it! A lot of shows were filming but didn't see anyone from Big Bang/2.5men :-( You're gonna have fun!

Thanks for reading/commenting Geoff! Our tour guide was so passionate about her job it really helped! They had the HP display upstairs but we saw that in 2012 so stood in awe at Batman! The Paramount tour looks good, we didn't have time to fit that in unfortunately!
