Mobile Krone for Fjords, how much?

What it says in the thread title really! We have four ports in our itinerary, and have prebooked excursions at all four. We have not been to Norway before but have heard it can be expensive.

I’m not asking for anybody to tell me how much I need as such, just any information that will help me decide!

TIA ☺️

This won't be much help but I do remember the cakes in Starbucks were extortionate, though the coffee wasn't much more than we would pay here.
We found that due to the ports being so close to the town, we could walk back to the ship if we wanted lunch.
There was food provided on the excursions we went on so we didn't need to buy any.

I've been to Norway a few times recently for work. Yes it is expensive. I never buy any foreign currency to take with me now - I just ensure I have a credit card with no foreign transaction fee's - everywhere - including taxis take credit cards. In saying that I have have been in Oslo the last couple of times, but previously have been in more remote areas and found the same.

Beautiful country and very nice people.

A pretty basic restaurant main course will be at least £25 to £30 - a pint of lager is around £9.

I’ve now done 3 cruises to Norway and converted £100 on my first one to have some cash. I still have £30 worth left for my 4th cruise in August!
It is really pricy, so I’ve never bought more than a few souvenirs from the ports - all food and drink has been onboard ship.

None!

We brought food off the boat or popped back for a drink.

At £3.50 for a cup of tea or £10! for a pancake on the quayside food and drink prices are extortionate!

We had £50 for our week- 3 fridge magnets later and it was all gone! Apart from around £2.50 which wouldn't even get you a mars bar 😠😠

Wow! This is brilliant for helping me decide how much krone to take, not so good to hear on the expensive nature of the country. It is what it is and we aren’t big on souvenirs etc so it gives us a good idea. I really do appreciate it!
