A MAGICal Adventure WBTA / Day 2 Aaaaaaaand Relax 07/09/2014
It was the nicest feeling waking up that morning knowing that a full two weeks of fun and relaxation lay ahead of us! That being said, we woke up at 6.45am, though we snoozed til 7.30am and eventually surfaced at 8am.
We were looking forward today as we were off to Palo Brunch at midday, which we were considering to be our anniversary meal. With that in mind, breakfast today, at Cabanas, was to be light. That being said, Matt still managed to tuck away a fry up while I stuck to a more modest bowl of Frosties with a chocolate milk. 20140907_070143 by nataliepope183, on Flickr The more observant of you will have shrewdly spotted Heinz baked beans and English back bacon, which was to remain with us throughout the cruise = Happy Matt! En route to Cabanas, we stopped by the Port Adventures desk to pick up tickets for the character breakfast which would be held later in the cruise (detailed within our Navigator). I found this piccie on my phone so we must have bumped into Goofy along the way! IMG_3404 by nataliepope183, on Flickr We sat on deck for a couple of hours, just taking it all in, before heading back to the room at 11am to get ready. Brunch was every bit as good as we remembered, and our waiter, Andre, who we saw as we dined in Palo throughout the cruise was wonderful. IMG_5135 by nataliepope183, on Flickr We started with a Mimosa, but as a non-drinker, I had Matt's (result!) IMG_5114 by nataliepope183, on Flickr IMG_5124 by nataliepope183, on Flickr We then helped ourselves to selections from the buffet IMG_5115 by nataliepope183, on Flickr IMG_5120 by nataliepope183, on Flickr I enjoyed a refreshing strawberry soup IMG_5119 by nataliepope183, on Flickr We then each ordered a chicken parmagiana and it was heavenly, just like last time. You will never eat parmagiana like this anywhere else in the world! IMG_5122 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Next was pizza...I had been wanting to try the grape & gorgonzola for some time, while Matt had a spicy sausage (which he said was not all that spicy) IMG_5127 by nataliepope183, on Flickr IMG_5128 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Finally, the dessert buffet, the highlight being the baked vanilla yoghurt with mango coulis IMG_5129 by nataliepope183, on Flickr IMG_5131 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Suitably stuffed, we headed back to the room to change and headed up to the deck for 2pm, where we stayed until 4.30pm, when we headed back to the room to chill for a bit, and then to get ready for showtime. Tonight's show was 'Walt Disney: The Dream Goes On' and was described to us as a film of archive footage from the Disney vaults. I am a Disney fan but wasn't feeling all that excited about this, but it absolutely blew me away! It was supplemented with narration and music from the onboard singers, and I will admit to shedding a few tears, especially at the end! Next was the Captain's Reception. We missed this on the Fantasy, and with the promise of free cocktails, I didn't want to miss it this time. However, it was somewhat chaotic so I think we'll give it a wide berth on future cruises! I did however have an apple martini. We also bumped into Kim and Ross while we were there so we took some piccies of each other in our formal get up! IMG_5146 by nataliepope183, on Flickr IMG_5153 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Dinner tonight was at Cariocas with the Mediterranean menu. We ate: Tapas IMG_5160 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Egyptian Green soup (i.e. spinach) IMG_5161 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Spicy Analucian Tomato soup IMG_5163 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Preserved lemon and rosemary rubbed sirloin IMG_5164 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Apple tart IMG_5167 by nataliepope183, on Flickr Chocolate custard IMG_5168 by nataliepope183, on Flickr We promised ourselves that we would ensure that we enjoyed some of the adult entertainment on this cruise, so after dinner, we headed to the Walt Disney Theater to what the Comedy & Juggling of Pete Matthews, which was very funny indeed! The show finished at 11.30pm, which was time for bed! Tonight's towel animal was a dog! IMG_5169 by nataliepope183, on Flickr |

It was, Chazy - thanks for reading!
Thank you - I love that one too! Perfect for formal night imo! And yes, Palo is delightful! 3 more doses to come! Thanks for reading! Thanks for reading! Yes, I know about the piccies - Smax has told me it's because I didn't correct the orientation on my PC before I uploaded them and the fact that they are displaying correctly on my computer is a bit of an anomaly. Also he says the file size is too big. He explained the only solution was to edit and re-upload but having spent literally hours uploading them to Flickr already, that's not an option! Hopefully it's not giving everyone too much pain in their necks! |

Great reports and photos, just caught up Impressed you managed breakfast on the same day as a Palo brunch lol, I know what you mean about the Captains reception, people spend thousands on a cruise but as soon as there is the chance of a free drink people go a bit mad lol
