Inventions is a fantastic place to eat (thanks for the recommendation James ) Yes it is expensive, but if you are looking for excellent unhurried character interaction & the most amazing buffet I've ever come across I dont think you would be disappointed in spending the money involved - just make sure you go hungry, as you certainly come out stuffed - i guess you would use your half board vouchers at face value here?

The shareholders discount saved us a lot of money this time, we more than paid for the price of the shares with the money back on the discounts (the discount from Inventions almost paid for them )

Have a lovely time

Us too. I can't wait. I have debated whether to upgrade to the Half Board plus. The Mouse said we have until 3 days before we go to change our minds. We did it because it helped with budgeting. What I have been doing is looking at the menus and planning what we would be likely to eat to see what works for our family. We are made up of one foodie adult, one picky adult and one picky child. I have said I want one French meal while there.

Well the reason we have booked the plan is to save money, ive been several times before and i doubt im going to get a starter , main and dessert for 22 quid. But thats great to here they have a set menu for us, great news, makes it alot easier, is there somewhere we can see said menu.

IMO the nicer you go, the better value you get for your money at DLP. I have had excellent meals at Walt's, Blue Lagoon, Cali Grill, Manhattan and Yacht Club, and good meals also at Plaza Gardens and Colonel Hathi's.

I feel the French do 'fine dining' a great deal better than they do fast food. And it's nice to have some chill time in relaxed surroundings.

It's a long time since we did HB, but we upgraded to Premium, which got us Buffalo Bill's (at about £20 cheaper than on the door) and the Cali Grill set menu (but we used it towards the 7-course tasting menu which was amazing).

The voucher as mentioned kind of assumes you are eating at your hotel so the voucher will give you a full buffet or a three course set menu at the resturants at your hotel depending where you stay. Any resturant taking the vouchers will indicate on the window as well as on your ticket. The fast food is not great at DLP but Colonal Hathis is great. The nicer food is great. Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe have very mixed reviews.

Plaza Gardens only costs around 20 euros per adult and less than 10 euros per child for the full buffet if you pay on the day, so you're losing money by eating there on half board plus.

With half board plus you do have a lot more options, do you want to eat in the park, lunch or dinner? Will the restaurants in the park be open when you want to eat there (not all park restaurants stay open for dinner, even when the parks are open late). Do you know what time the main park will close when you are there?

Don't discount the resort hotel restaurants for dinner - and of course you have Cafe Mickey on the half board plus plan.

King Ludwigs is great, but isn't on the half board plan.

We upgraded to Half Board plus so now need to do my research and plan where we want to eat. We also did it to spread the cost and help with budgeting, all paid for now so just Euros to save for I would really like to eat at Walts but haven't chosen anywhere else yet. A French meal would be a great idea!
