AKV housekeeping - rude awakening

I remember them doing this at PORS too. We were just changing hotel so in no rush to leave. First time told them to come back later and they were back in 15! So told them firmly we will be leaving at 10 and that seemed to work.

We leave bang on 11.00am. Put the do not disturb sign on the door until 10.50am. Never an issue.

Wow I would have been furious! You should definitely have complained, even more if your son is a minor - Disney would have definitely done something about it.

We checked out at 11 at the Clarion on Tuesday but cleaners were trying from 8:30 to get in, even hearing them phoning reception to tell them they can't get in! We put the room occupied sign on the handle.

I must admit, I would always answer the door, even if it was early. It would have saved all the knocking, just a polite 'go away' and it would have been done with!

When it happened to us, we had the sign on and answered the door all 3 times to a surly housekeeper basically tutting at us. I had agreed a late checkout with reception but she just kept coming back.

We asked at CSR when we were there for late checkout and got 2pm! Went to the MK did FP's, had lunch there, came back,showered and then left & I shall be trying for it again in September at AKL - will report back. DH would not be happy at all anyone trying to hassle him out of the room before time! We will pack up the day before we leave & just leave stuff we need out then have a breakfast ADR at Tuskers & FP for FOP before we come back to AKL to leave.

I had this at POFQ too! I was actually just about to leave the room when they knocked (at 8am!) so I just told them to give me 10 mins and i'd be out of their way. It is annoying though when for the rest of my stay they were coming into clean so late - usually around 3pm when I was popping back for a rest!

We had something similar at CBR ,2 weeks into the holiday a knock on the door asking what time we were leaving ? ,me thinking she meant out for the day I said "10 minutes " ..little did I know she actually meant leaving ! ...we'd got another week left so no idea why she was there!

To answer the door I’d have had to have got dressed. Housekeeping knew we weren’t leaving until 11am which is check out time as any request for late check out has to go through them, they denied it as they’re fully booked so we said that we’d be there until 11
