I have purchased my tickets through Disney and put genie plus on and paid, for my September trip, I did not buy as a package as staying through DVC and flights booked with BA direct, so you don’t need to be part of a package to buy it,
I am pleased to say that I got my tickets a few weeks ago and linked it to my Disney experience.
I did debate getting it as only real advantage seems to be at Hollywood studios but we will spending a lot of time there so made sense to get it.
I do wonder why they are changing it, hopefully it’s going to be for the better 😂😂

There's a big thread about it already and it does affect UK tickets. They've also changed the cut-off date to 25th May (possibly for packages only). I suspect this is because the 2023 offer goes on sale on 26th May and they don't want people adding it for 2023 bookings.

I have just looked at WDTC and the option to book Genie + is no longer available

It can only be done by phone at the moment. I'm guessing they wanted to stop a potential influx of bookings following the announcement.

That's pushed us to make our decision. My agent is adding it on today for our November holiday.

I have booked 14 day tickets with genie plus through virgin for May 2023, I assume this will still be honoured? I already have my tickets linked in mde

On AttractionTickets website? If you go on their website, select the 14-day Magic Tickets, click on select tickets, then a window pops up where you select the date you want the tickets to start and a bunch of other things. At the side you have the option to select either "Disney 14-Day Magic Ticket with Memory Maker" or "Disney 14-Day Magic Ticket with Memory Maker with Genie+".

This is super stressful. We intend to use genie+ every day (really small kids, not willing to wait more than 20 mins) and now we’ll have to think about how to add it at 7am every morning as well as booking the first ride.

This is not just for us but also for my elderly in-laws who don’t have smartphones - anyone know if you can buy it for friends and family as well as your own room on the day?

Also, we were excited about the 2023 deal but if we have to pay the $15.99 price this adds c.£200 to the cost of our holiday. Talk about giving with one hand and taking away with the other!
