Go in January and just had a opening hours update that it is open later so maybe it will be on then

rumors are they are training cast members for opening mid October as of yesterday

Disney originally announced RoL would open on 22nd April. However, in early-to-mid April they retracted that statement saying that due to unforeseen technical problems the opening of RoL would be delayed. It hasn't opened since. Instead, Disney quickly cobbled together a Jungle Book inspired evening show on the lake/river in AK to temporarily replace RoL. This Jungle Book show has had mixed reviews (to put it kindly).

Apparently, the problem was something to do with the automated GPS positioning of the barges used in the RoL show. As we can now tell, it was quite a major problem and not something fixable in a couple of weeks. Disney may also have changed some of the aspects of RoL based on feedback from the Jungle Book water show.
