Airlines do not know when biden will lift the ban any more than we do. The colour code of the states from uk government is irrelevent. It could be flashing illuminous green and we still couldnt go without the US opening up.

From this link you choose the International Travel tab above the map, put in country from and to, then press see requirements, then scroll down to COVID Test Required and this shows a list of vaccine types accepted.

Hopefully they will accept more than the three listed or perhaps I am reading this wrong.

Taken from the section that Andi has quoted -

"Fully vaccinated passengers must bring proof of vaccination in addition to their negative COVID-19 test result. They will need to be shown when at boarding.

They must present proof of vaccination that must comply with the United States requirements.

To be considered a fully vaccinated by the United States you must comply with the following:

2 weeks have elapsed since the last vaccination, depending on the doses required.
Vaccine types accepted:

Pfizer
Moderna
Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen"

At the moment, I think this is because the AZ isn't authorised for use in the US - heraldscotland/news/...ending-abroad/ explains a little more, but includes the worrying thought that AZ may not go for emergency approval, but full approval

That's an outrageous suggestion.

Are you really suggesting that the copy-and-pasted reply to a tweet from a lowly-paid customer service rep, that matches many previous responses over the course of the pandemic, is not actually Virgin Atlantic's formal notification that we are all set to go on holiday finally?

Try and stay positive I know it’s hard seems one step forward and two steps back but I’m hopeful things will be clearer in another month .

I wouldn't stress on this at all yet.

This is one airline gearing up to take US citizens to Ireland, and has nothing at all to do with what may or may not be the situation when Brits are able to freely travel to the US again.

I try not to but I’m just so fed up of it all and can feel my mental health decline by the day.
I have GAD anyway and have been managing really well up until recently, it’s just exhausting.

It does say on that page that:

"The conditions for being allowed entry are the same for fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated passengers, although the first group has slightly easen requirements on arrival". (the spelling mistake is on their webpage).

So you don't need to be vaccinated. Although without a vaccination you do need to take various tests as described and it is recommended that you self-isolate for 7 days.
