1 day car hire
We are not planning on hiring a car for the full duration of our holiday but if we wanted to hire a car for 1 or 2 days (so I can go shopping ) is this possible? If so, who would you recommend? We are staying at the Rosen Inn at Pointe.
Thanks for your advice |

we hired a car for 1 day just to drive down from Miami to Orlando, wasn't an issue and you can definately do it, we booked through usrentacar but that was mainly because we are under 25 so they were the cheapest for young drivers

Most places rent for 1 day without a problem. But I have found most now won't let you upgrade to Gold on short rentals (all used to) Virgin Holidays still allow it virginholidays/travel-extras/car-hire
This is a big thing for short rentals, see example below: 1 random day in June, SUV £24.77, not only are they about the cheapest around for 1 day rentals but you add Gold for only £5.68 which gives you a tank of gas included (and additional driver if required) In effect you are getting a free rental as the gas is worth more than you are paying.

aahh, after the one day you might not want to give it back, once you discover what a lot more freedom it gives you to explore even more shops !
Sorry to state the obvious but you might not remember if you haven't hired a car before... take both parts of your driving licence ! |

We usually hire for the full duration of our holiday but this time we are going to just hire for 4-5 days in the middle. (stopping on-site).
Has anyone picked up from the Walt Disney Dolphin? any advantage over Disney car care centre?

I don't think it matters which rental company for a one day hire off airport really, assuming a bog standard car.
I Drive rental locations for the major companies are detailed here. I've often seen good prices direct with budget UK but check out the usual suspects. Just don't tie yourself into a pre-paid tank of fuel for 1 day unless the cost is small, chose to return full as you won't use much to/from the malls. |
