We have an independent travel agent who are advertising on Facebook that free dining is coming soon and to book an appointment now. I very much doubt these ta’s would be saying it’s on the way if they hadn’t had some sort of heads up it’s coming. They would have quite a few annoyed customers! I’m not even planning to go next year but will be watching carefully as hoping to go in 2020. I’m sure I’ll be on a thread this time next year because a ta has said it’s not coming!

True Bighal. Although I don't think it's the lack of belief.
More that it's like an in joke on the DIBB as every year there'll be the post of "my TA just told me they're definitely not doing free DPP so I'd better book now before prices double etc... " Just DIBBers taking the mickey out of that I suppose, as no one knows (except I'll bet loves2plan ) As I posted earlier - I'm all excited and worked up and I'm not even going.

I think because announcing on FB or on their website would then be false advertising if it didn’t transpired whereas they can just shrug it off as “we didn’t know” if it does happen when they said it wouldn’t.

Maybe if we clap our hands and say we believe in free DDP, it will be released! Sorry... couldn't resist.

Excited about Disney
|
I had this email today from Orlando Attractions:
Many thanks for your enquiry with 'OrlandoAttractions.com', greatly appreciated. We have a direct contract with Disney, we always traditionally have great discounts for our clients incorporating the Dining plan once officially released. As we have no set release date of the 2019 Dining plan yet, our intention is to keep a file with all enquiries, I will be adding your to that list & we will automatically quote for you upon release. I guess it's wait and see... |

If free DDP is cancelled I'll personally pay for everyone's TS meals myself.

Hmmmm could it be that they want people to book with them as soon as possible and not wait around for the DDP?
Nah. Couldn't possibly be that... |
