USA borders opening - travel corridor?
As we're both doing well with the vaccination rollout I'm wondering if there will be some kind of travel corridor between our countries.
Thoughts?

The borders are open, you just can't go directly from the UK to the US currently - you need to spend two weeks, en route, in one of their designated "Covid safe" territories. I appreciate this makes holidaying in the US impractical for most.
A lot of people have written on here about how the "borders opening" (or restrictions relaxed as it actually is) would stand a better chance with Trump winning the election, but given Trump's ongoing Covid-denial, I'm not sure why he didn't relax restrictions BEFORE the election. If your stance is that Covid is nothing to worry about and the virus is on the decline, what better way to signify that than opening up your borders to all and sundry? |

How long's a piece of string? I doubt it will be any time soon as their numbers are still very high throughout the US.

After 90% have been vaccinated on both sides of the border (is my guess) but regardless I cant see why it would be any time soon with the number growing in USA every day

Forget travelling there until the FCO advice changes and it is deemed proportionately safe to do so.

Not necessarily at all IMO. We just need to be a bit patient.
There’s now better testing, treatment and obviously an effective vaccine so I think that things could change considerably over the next few months |

I'm of the same opinion as you. I just hope that we can get the vaccine soon. I know it's going to be available to the elderly and vulnerable first (and quite rightly so) Just means that we may have to wait quite a while for it unless there's also a private option where we can fast track.
