Breakfast at Tusker House

Hi all,

This is probably going to sound really dense, but if you don't ask you'll never know…

We've never done character dining before - when we've gone as adults, as a rule we don't eat actual 'real' meals in the parks - but taking the nephews this year I'd like to make it a real experience for them to remember.

I posted before asking about suggested character dining experiences and Tusker House at Animal Kingdom was mentioned - looked at the breakfast menu and there is something everyone will eat (if there's bacon, egg, pastries, cereal and fruit - we're good to go for everybody!) and, even more exciting, there are available slots on the morning of an intended visit to Animal Kingdom.

Here's my stupid question though - I'm new to this whole Disney app and booking things (which will include FastPast+ in due time, so watch out for questions on that!) and the price guide is "$15-$34.99 per adult" for breakfast.

So is breakfast likely to be nearer the $15 end or the $34.99 end of the price spectrum?

We're not staying onsite (so no dining plan), so obviously I'm going to be paying for this breakfast - which is fine and I'm not intending to sound like a cheapskate or anything! It's not so much about how much it costs as knowing which ballpark it's likely to be in, if that makes sense?

The boys are 11, 10 and 8, so with me/mum/dad, it'll be 5 adults and 1 child - I just want to get an idea of cost beforehand really!

Thanks in advance,

Kim

I believe that you'll be looking at the higher price (or there a bouts) for the guests over the age of 9 and for the 9 years and under you'll be looking at the lower end. For your party of 5 adults and 1 child I'd budget about $200 and then an extra $40 for gratuity.

On 31/10/16 breakfast was $29.99 plus tax for adults and $17.99 plus tax for children. Tax was 6.5% on top. Then a tip, suggested amounts are 18% and 20%, I think for a party of 6 they automatically add the tip.

It changes price depending on times of year and time of day. We are a family of 4 and it costs us just over $100. It is by far the best character meal we've done and has new foods to taste too.

It's not cheap but we love it... done it a few times
You will get a photo just outside when you are ready to go in, we got a family one with Donald dressed in his safari gear
Food is what you would expect I guess... buffet style, and the jungle juice they serve is lovely, lots of interaction with the characters as well, so much so that we had to remind the kids to eat as they were too wrapped up in them..!

Hope you enjoy it

I am a fussy eater and when I went in October, I could not believe the different dishes they had. It was all buffet so you just served yourself with what and how much you wanted. I had never seen so many different dishes for a breakfast - they have a room just for the dishes. I have gone onto a website and put your dates in and for 5 adults and 1 child the cost if $198.17 which is made up of $167.94 for the meal and $30.23 for a tip. Hope this helps.

Awesome - thanks for the information guys! :-)

Bath1960 - which website did you find that price from, if you don't mind me asking? Not because I doubt you in any way, I'd just be interested to use it myself if possible!

Thanks again,

Kim

Expensive it is but it's a great experience even if you don't have kids. There's loads of choice at the buffet and lots of it is familiar fayre. We're going again later this year but booked for a late breakfast as they start to change over to the lunch menu and you get to try both for the breakfast price but we didn't plan it that way, oh no, no. 😉
