How much do you spend on holidays per year ?
So I’m just being nosey actually 😂😂
Just wondering what you spend on holidays each year on average ? By ‘ spend ‘ I mean the whole cost of the holiday - flight / hotel / tickets / spending money / insurance / parking / car hire etc Not just talking Florida trips , but anywhere in the world., city breaks , uk , Europe , camping weekends etc - basically anything more than a night away . Include any of your dependants / family that come on holiday with you that you pay for Just pick the band you would typically fall in on average - excluding covid restrictions ! I reckon we probably spend maybe £5k. For that we get a week away in winter , a 10-14 night summer trip and maybe 4 caravan weekends away . We don’t have expensive tastes and I love a bargain flight . That’s for 4 of us It’s rare we go outside Europe

I'm quite scared to add it up but I'd guess around £15k a year ( in a normal year), broken down as:
- 2 - 3 weeks in America (but has been as much as 8 weeks which obviously cost more) - £5k - week in dubai - £3.5k - cheap week somewhere like greece - £1k - approx 15 weekends away ( could be festivals, camping, europe or UK) - average of say £500 (more for europe/less for UK) - so that is £7.5k Ok so that comes to £17K - eeek! We have no kids and live in a very small house. Since having cancer 10 years ago, we started spending our money on experiences/holidays rather than "stuff". We could probably have a bit more of a happy medium and spend a few grand less on hols and a few grand more on house stuff. But that definitely won't be happening for the next couple of years whilst we make up for lost time on hols etc ha.

Interesting responses.
Would be interesting to know the figure per head. For example I put 4-8. That's effectively between 5 adults. It's a different thing to between 2. |

Last year was about £6k which is low for us as we only managed to get one 10 day cruise in before the lockdown started. We have noticed however, how much healthier our bank account balance is and it is still growing.

A holiday to Florida costs us £10k ( 2 adults, 2 teenagers- so adult prices). We then like a Christmas market so that’s around £1k and a spring holiday if we can £2k. I ticked 8-12k as we don’t go to Florida every year now, we tend to go one year miss the next, we have been 25 times now but still love it so much..💘💘 the money saved last year from having our 4 holidays cancelled and nothing booked so far this year has made a massive impact on our savings, however we will always spend on holidays, the memories are way too precious we could never give them up. I would hope they get considerably cheaper once the boys have left home and we are just paying for the two of us..we shall see..☀️☀️☀️

In a non-cancer year (four lost) and a non-Covid year (three lost so far ) we visit Florida twice a year for 4 weeks each time. Off season.
Two oldies, PE flights, travel insurance (painful ), 4 bed villa, eat out about 80%, car hire, airport parking and overnight hotel, no souvenirs and no park tickets since 2010. Around £7.5k per holiday so £15k per annum. Mick
