We have a Saeco Pico Baristo - they're a Phillips brand. Have had for around 3 years and love it, no complaints. My husband uses it for strong Americanos, I use it for cappuccinos with foamed milk straight from the fridge; it does a super job at both!

If you're willing to put a little effort in then a Sage of some type.

We got a Barista, refurbished, and had our first decent coffee out of it within 20 minutes of setting it up. It's not the fastest at steaming the milk but it's plenty good / fast enough for us.

This is the bean to cup coffee maker that I bought a couple of years back, and so far no complaints.

It is easy to use and easy to upkeep, and has a great selection of options.

You seem to want a 'hot' milky coffee. Personally, I find the milky coffee options come out hot enough for me, but if it is an issue for you I would think you might want to preheat your cup before brewing the coffee.

Edited to add: This has a slim profile too, which means that it doesn't take up too much counter space. It is a few centimetres short of a regular depth counter top.

Thanks, I actually have this one added to my list, I was looking at some reviews of this one today.

I’m not a massive coffee drinker but I do like a good black coffee and want the option to try out different beans and customise the flavour and consistency to my liking. I do like a milky coffee. I also like my drinks to be hot so I can take my time drinking them. As you say I can pre warm the cup or maybe even give it a quick blast in the microwave to increase the heat.

Thanks for all the replies everyone

We have a Melitta Caffeo Barista , I bought it for my hubby for Xmas, we had a delonghi before this was, but it didn’t do as much, so he has that one in his office now and the Melitta is now his pride and joy.

We have the sage Bambino which isn't bean to cup as you use ground coffee instead so skip a step. We like it as there is a heat sensor for the milk jug so you can just put it down, press your froth level and step away - no barista skills needed to get the perfect steamed milk!
