Mobile Hollywood studios dining help!

We are on the DDP and have 3 boys 13,8,5.

Really can't decide between mama Melrose (fantasmic package if can get it and if times are ok, if not be FP) or sci fi and do fantasmic on FP ?

Not overly struck on reviews of both.

Or are there any nice TS restaurants at resorts close by?

Many thanks

We did MM fantasmic package in 2015 and really enjoyed it. The dining viewing area is better than fp as it's central. It's a good use of a credit too as you get 3 courses.

Same here. It's the only restaurant my dd has asked to re visit this year.
Anybody who has read any of my posts will know dd is a terribly picky eater, so we are definitely going back. Twice apparently.
Fantasmic is a bonus.

Booking our ADRs today!

We've been to MM twice and done the dining package for fantasmic. Really like the food and atmosphere and the seats are great for fantasmic. Whilst the theming and milkshakes are great at sci fi, the food really wasn't (except DD's burger which she said was great!). It's very dark and loud my 4 year old was terrified.

We really enjoyed Mama Melrose and the Fantasmic package is a bonus if on DDP as it's only 1 credit for 3 courses and great viewing area for a Fantasmic. We really enjoyed the food too.

S I-fi diner is ok but just Burgers and milkshakes really and probably not best use of a credit.

Silly question time...When making your ADR for MM..How do you state you want the Fantasmic package, so to speak...Have seen the show a few times in the past by just joining the queue but never booked the dining thing...Yes we have free DDP for next year...

You need to search specifically for dining events or Fantasmic. You'll then get your choice of restaurants and times. I've always found it easier to book this on the website rather than the MDE app.

This is exactly the experience we had. Was pleasantly surprised with MM. Food was good and was very relaxed

Only done Hollywood Brown Derby on the dining package. Utterly superb both times. Last time we got a 12.45 ADR so it was lunch - but be aware all the dining packages use unpopular times to fill the restaurants, so if you don't want a 3 course meal at lunchtime or mid-afternoon, avoid.

We weren't impressed with Sci-Fi - theming was great fun but our food was not good. However, I think if we had stuck to burgers and shakes it would have been fine.

We've also done 50s Prime Time which was great fun. Homely old-fashioned US food in a 1950s sitcom setting. Be sure to tell them you want to join in all the shenanigans as I think sometimes they think us Brits are too reserved for it.
