First ever DCL cruise booked this weekend!

Well first ever cruise booked!

Cruising has never appealed to either DH or myself, so I don't know if it's from getting older, or watching too many Disney Fairy tale weddings on my days off in lockdown, but we've been getting curious so have booked a 3 day DCL cruise for during our (fingers crossed) October trip.

We've held our stateroom and have a few hours left before the deposit is due to change our minds! Think we're ready to go for it

Exciting! I'd advise joining the fb group for your sailing. We should have done a 4 nighter on the Dream with our last WDW trip - but Hurricane Dorian intervened and it was cancelled.

Yes the FB groups are great.

We were on the last Fantasy sailing before Dorian arrived, I felt so sorry for all those impacted.

I felt the same way about cruises Jo. We have now done 4 (3 DCL and 1 Celebrity ). Although I really enjoyed them all they are still not my first choice for a holiday but do make a nice change.

Joining the FB group for your cruise is excellent advice. The one we joined for our Northern European cruise in September 2019 is still going strong 😁.

You’ll love it! I hated it at the time - genuinely the sea sickness was horrendous. But I am DESPERATE to go back on DCL. My OH was fine, so it was just me. And now I know I get seasick, I can prepare / I was only prepared to weird tropical diseases, not common seasickness 😂

The food was amazing, the activities I managed were great, castaway cay was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The bits I was awake for and not feeling horrendous were incredible.

Thank you all, we've gone for it and paid the deposit last night so all confirmed. The cancellation policy is good for a contingency that I'm hoping we won't need.

I'll actually be spending my birthday on Castaway Cay, so very excited about that also.

Very much looking forward to it

If it helps, when our DCL cruise was cancelled we received full refund as soon as we applied for it - was in the bank the day after.

I never believed cruising would appeal to me, but we tried a DCL 3-nighter as a taster just to see, and we were hooked there and then and have done a few more since.

Funnily enough only an hour ago I was checking their site for cruises currently scheduled for late-July - early-August. Optimistic, I know, but I might book one anyway and just cross my fingers even tighter!
