30% off & free hb - regular offer?
Does anyone know if the current 30% off plus free half board is a regular occurrence? Looking at going April 2017 but that is £500 more expensive and no half board compared to the same dates this year.
Trying to figure out if we are better waiting a while before booking? |

There is pretty much always an offer - sometimes 30%, sometimes 4 nights for 2, other times kids under 7 free, or under 12. Also different countries have different offers and you can use any of those.
However, April 2017 is the launch of the 25th anniversary, so they may not do any offers for then. You could always phone and book with a deposit, then if an offer comes up, you can change your booking. They won't refund any money but they will add on something to the same value, eg dining package or upgraded accommodation. I think this only applies if it is the same country as you booked with at first - so say if you booked a Dutch offer, they would only upgrade if there was a cheaper Dutch offer later.

i'm not going until early summer 2017, but i am tracking the offers for this year and i'll be waiting for a similar one to come out for my dates in 2017 before i book.
There were offers in the 15th and 20th anniversary years (i was there for both of them, and i always have a similar budget amount to stick to for DLP trips). |

Like Sammy, I've been keeping an eye on offers this year, ready for next. However, I don't know how much things are going to change next year, as at the AGM it was disclosed that DLRP are moving away from 'discount offers' to a more standard price of accom from 2017. They say they've been too heavily leaning on discount offers over the last few years. What that means in reality I don't know, as 'standard' prices at DLRP are fairly high!
I'm rushing off out now but I'll trawl through the AGM notes later and see if I can find the exact wording and post it... |

The "standard" prices for DLP are insanely expensive! With the financial results they've been having I can't imagine they'll be in a position not too discount in the near future - although a lot of decisions DLP make puzzle me so I wouldn't be that shocked.

I usually get a glossy DLP brochure from the local travel agents every year - and every year I look at the prices printed in the brochure, then have a blimmin good laugh at the thought that Disney would expect anyone would pay anything like those high prices!

If there is no offers we will not beable to afford to go, as I'm sure many families will also be staying away. May be when numbers are down they will change their minds. Fingers crossed for good offers next year.

I agree with you both! I pity anyone who pays brochure prices and there will be people who don't know any other I'm sure!
Edit - I've now heard from the person I know that DLRP have scrapped their plans to move away from hotel discounting in the near future - this is because The Walt Disney Corp now have a bigger share following the restructuring and they've decided to change a lot of the medium/longer term plans! Which is good news for us DLRP fans! As I was dreading seeing prices without discounts . Edited at 09:17 PM. |
