Where to buy women’s suits
I’m a lawyer and go to Court a lot so I wear suits a lot. For years I’ve bought them from Next but I’m losing the will to live with them - lack of choice (including lots of things they don’t make jackets for) and poor quality (hems falling down, seams coming undone, zips breaking or not staying done up).
I’m down to 1 suit after I had to go out and rescue my Mums lost dog straight from work, and fell in a bog. I’m on WW so hoping to get back into a couple of other suits but obviously doesn’t help me for now. Where do other ladies buy their suits? I’ve tried M&S but I haven’t found anything I like - I’m 31 and want to dress my age, not my Mum’s age. I need, as a minimum, matching trousers and jacket - skirt and/or dress would be a bonus. Thanks!

Have you tried H&M? I’ve seen some suits there and bought a very nice summery suit jacket there only last week (didnt buy the pants). Not sure if Zara have?
Once you reached your target - I love suits from Hobbs. But I wouldnt spend the money if I was on a weight loss journey. I tend to buy mine mostly from M&S nowadays - but then I am 47 not 30 😃

My cousin is an actuary and she buys a lot of her work clothes from Hobbs.
She also buys a lot of her clothes from Karen Millen. Hope that helps! |

The trouble is I like the slouch trousers and I haven’t seen anywhere that does them - bootcut never look right on me and I’d be sent home if I turned up in those skinny trousers I might have to reluctantly stick with Next for now.
Unfortunately, despite my occupation, I just earn a regular wage so beyond maybe saving up for a suit from Hobbs when I finish WW, as the PP suggested, those shops are out of my reach.

You can get great deals in the Hobbs sales when they're on they are good hard wearing quality. I work with a young women around your age and she buys her suits in Debenhams.

Do you have a Tesco near you? I've bought some lovely suits from their Florence and Fred range previously.
Next can be hit and miss with their ladies tailoring but i've got suits there previously. |

As someone said the Hobbs sales are amazing, have you tried like TM Lewin and Charles Tywritt (sp?).They normally have nice shirts as well. Austin Reed used to have really nice ladies suits its online mainly now and i'm not sure of the quality anymore.

I tend to wear a dress and suit jacket to work and I like Wallis. Oasis and Warehouse have decent work wear but it's occasionally a bit too 'trendy'.
Next workwear has gone downhill. I've also found that trouser zips don't stay up on a few recent pairs that I've brought. I've had some good buys from McArthur Glen at Swindon and Cheshire Oaks. I had an amazing bargain on a Hobbs Suit (skirt and jacket for about £120) and an LK Bennett dress (£29!). |
