How do you do your planning?

Do you first pick up park? Recommended vs EMH?

Do you make attractions plan and fit adr or make a plan for meal and then fit in the attractions around it? Do you try to do all attractions, or just your favourites?

I made plans for MK for our AM visits, and choose QS or TS near where we will be at the time and dinner in one of MK resorts after the park. I am thinking lunch at 12, dinner at 18:00

AK - we know we want lunch at Flame tree so the plan is to bring us to that location around lunch. Same with HS

But Epcot seem to be ADR driven. Choosing adr and then fitting in the attractions around it

I just wonder how do you approach your holiday plans

I usually choose the ADRs first, then by looking at the recommended/EMH etc decide which day to visit each park. I then plan the rides around the ADRs. So much planning!

Yep. Choose where you want to eat. Look at which days are the quietest for those ADRs then plan FP+ around it.

Keep busy days as rest days. Usually works a treat.

Was off-site last year. Sorted a park plan first, avoiding the least recommended park and the EMH/EEH. next, I booked a couple of ADRs then planned the FP+s.

I look at EMH, then plan ADRs around that (we are on site). By the time I book the FPs I want the ADRs nailed on. Then FPs last.

I did this:
1. Decide which parks and how many days in each.
2. Decide on evening stuff eg fireworks/shows.
3. Make list of ADRs, QS places to go to, snacks to try.
4. Use busy day guide to allocate parks to days.
5. Fit meals into the park days / rest days.
6. Make list of must do attractions in each park and decide on FP.
7. Make a touring plan for each park day eg did half of Epcot on each day to minimise walking, or did two lands of MK on one day.
8. This plan gave me approx times for ADRs and FP.
9. At 180 days booked ADRs, I think I then had to switch a couple of park days to fit with the ADRs.
10. At 60 days (30 if off site) I booked FP, got most times near to what we wanted.
11. As park hours changed leading up to our trip I decided whether or not to change our plans. Eg AK pre rope drop breakfast ended up being after rope drop as EMH were added, but we didn't change our plan.
12. Changed a couple of ADRs while we were there and also changed a few FP times while we were there eg if we decided not to do a park at rope drop the next day as we all needed the lie in.

I look through the busy day guides first. I compare the dibb and easy wdw. I end up with a couple of options for each day.
I then think about extra things like watermarks, mini golf, any resorts I want to visit and fireworks etc.
I also have a list of places I might like an adr for.
I then put the parks in my spreadsheet plan I want for each day and try to match the adrs.
I don't plan fp till later and I don't plan qs or attractions till all my other bookings are made, in fact I have a list in my head of qs and attractions and then just decide on a starting point and pretty much play it by ear.
Worked for us so far the last few Julys.

we did all the hard work in 2008 and just re jig the planer each time we go back

so when we re jigged it for this year we will be using the busy park guide to pick the parks

we plan the following days in the parks

MK 2 days
epcot 1-2 days
disneyMGM 1 day
AK 1 day
universal studio 1 day
IofA 1 day
seaworld 1 day
bush garden 1 day
Kennedy space center 1 day
total 11 days

but this year we are having a 2 night stay at disney so hopeing that we can get two days EMH late ones for MK and epcot when we stay on site
