Airportr courier service highy recommended
Just got back from my first solo holiday to Orlando and it was amazing. Knowing I was going on a massive shopping spree I had taken one suitcase within another as I flew BA World Traveller going and World Traveller Plus coming back. I suffer from a bad back from time to time so have to be very careful with lifting anything heavy. So this is where the wonderful service of Airportr came in.
On my return to the UK I had arranged that I dropped my 2 cases at their desk at north terminal at 7.30am and for them to deliver to my home address between 7pm to 8pm (cost was £40). The reason for this time was I had parked at Gatwick and had booked a day room at the Sofitel on my return to get some sleep as I can't sleep on planes and it takes about 90 minutes to get home from Gatwick. I got home around 6pm and had received a text from them to say my luggage was on its way. At precisely 7.05pm the driver arrived with my luggage. All my bargins have been unpacked and put away. A perfect end to a GREAT HOLIDAY.

That sounds like a great service for those who need it. I can see it being very handy for people who use public transport to get home as well.
Many years ago I travelled home from Gatwick, using the train. Unfortunately my luggage hadn't made the same plane as I did! It was delivered the next morning to my home address and I got the train home with just hand luggage which was much easier!

We did a similar thing with a company in Amsterdam. We had a long weekend there.
The company collected our luggage from our hotel after we had checked out, and took it to the airport. We picked it up from left luggage and went to check in. I gather other companies are offering this too. There is one in Barcelona. Great way to ensure your last day somewhere is luggage-free!
