Ok I’m going to get a big bag of popcorn, take cover and say the following

Of course you can if that’s what you want to do, many still do.

You can also still use a mangle to do the washing if you like

I am of course saying that tounge in cheek, I just find them old fashioned.

All shops in Disney as well as restaurants accept travel
ler cheaques, they can also be cashed at guest services and at disney hotel reception. Most off site shops and restaurants also accept them, but there are a few exceptions. I know Golden Corral dont. When we went last time we did find the number of places that either dont accept them or are not sure what to do with them was growing.
At Ponderossa they were training a new member of staff and ours were the first traveler cheques they had been offered in a while.
This time we are only taking the ones we have left from last time and will take cash/cards for the rest

I got some travellers cheques from John Lewis to take this August.

They can be cashed at all the Disney Parks, just go to Guest Services on arrival at the park, or you can use them to pay in their shops or restaurants.

Of course they are - but they don’t get cloned like cards, they are replaceable if lost or stolen unlike cash, and they help you physically see what you have left, which money coaches agree is a wonderful tool for managing money.

We last went in 2014 and used them in Disney to pay off our bill every few days. Also used them to pay off our bill at our Un8versal hotel.

Many staff have never seen one and you may need to wait for a manager to show them how to process them.

Certain offsite shops and restaurants don’t take them.

But why care if your card is cloned? It's the credit card company that loses money not you...

It's the same amount of faff arranging new travellers cheques to be sent to replace stolen ones as it is to arrange a new emergency card.

Each to their own, but there are no securities in travellers cheques that aren't at least equalled by the security on credit cards

Wouldn’t a new card take a week to arrive? TCs can be replaced instantly.

I would agree when it comes to credit cards. However, what many people take are the cash cards and they certainly don't offer the same level of protection as a cc or tc.

I loved Travellers Cheques. Secure and accepted widely.
I got caught out once back in the 1970's by having Thomas Cook ones which weren't accepted in loads of places so went back to American Express and never had an issue ever again.

If we were still doing road trips I would go back to using them.

I would never use a pre loaded card ever! All the time I am seeing on here people who have problems with them. Not for me.

Travellers cheques old fashioned?, it's just cash at the end of the day with a guarantee if lost or stolen.
