MCO Immigration Queues - Wednesday 31 May

Never flown into MCO in May/June. Been in January and July always. On the later VS73 flight on 31 May anyone let me know what the Immigration lines are like?

I know it's hard to predict but just a general thought is cool if anyone has been in there recently or this time of year in the past

Immigration lines change on a minute by minute basis. It all depends which planes arrive when. One can be a bit early another a bit late and chaos can ensue. Best policy is to accept you can do nothing about it and go with the flow.

Definitely a lottery. Late June, with a large family group, we were faced with a scary queue at immigration the same year the scanner units were installed. Felt like a 90 min wait in store, but thanks to good crowd management were were through in 25.

The real bear trap to guard against is 2nd bag drop. AVOID.

I was watching a vlog the other day which was filmed the day before. They said that due to all the construction at MCO all the self serve kiosks were not in use making immigration much slower. No idea how long they are out of action for though. Maybe something on their website?

As above, Immigration is a bit of a lottery. We normally use the VS75 from Manchester, which is - all being well - the first long-haul flight into Orlando, so you get an empty immigration hall (especially if in Upper Class / Premium Economy).

IMO, the real bear trap to avoid is Alamo car rental (if not with V-Hols, who have their owl Alamo desk). I've been through immigration & customs, train to main terminal all within 20mins of the wheels touching down (this is touchdown, not arrival at gate). I've then waited in excess of 45mins in the Alamo queue - they never have enough agents on duty & the agent tried the up-sell of upgrades / sat-nav / key loss / tyre insurance on me. I just replied "under 10mins to clear immigration & customs, 45mins to rent a car". He shut up.

I've booked Alamo again for 3 weeks time - but have checked-in online & got a "direct to garage" ticket so can bypass all the queues and go straight to the cars.

Kraken. But who goes to the Alamo desk? There is no reason for anybody to. No matter who you book with you can avoid that if you do ten mins online work.

We flew out on the 7th of May and found the first part of immigration the quickest in all the trips we have had (20years).

After collecting or luggage the queue for the next part of immigration was the worst in all the years we have been. They just looked at the immigration form and told us to bin it lol

Best way to approach MCO or Miami arrivals is to always expect the worst, then anything better will make you feel happier.

Piece of string skindogg, so many variables re arriving aircraft/pax already queuing for immigration, you'll only get an idea once you arrive in the hall... last November we were thro immigration within 5 mins or so, ours was the first UC case spat out as we got to the carousel, ding dong... then we look over and see ALL pax being herded to transit the single customs X-ray machine, you can imagine the queue!

Have a smashing holiday
