Spectrolee's Three Week Disney Trip - Day 7 Pool and Epcot

We headed to the paddock pool this morning. We walked to the carriage house, down past the High Springs pool and across the road.

Soon you come to a large bridge which takes you to the paddock pool

Such a beautiful resort

It only took us 13 minutes to walk over (we were going at a slow pace too)

The kids had a great time in the play area

We got some food to share at the pool bar

The glasses of wine were $7.99 if I remember correctly

We had the cheeseburger (delicious- much better than Epcot)

A hot dog

And the chicken chop salad

For sides we took a raisin cookie

Cheese Danish (I love these, look forward to them all year)

And a fruit cup

This was just across the road from the pool
Reedy Creek Fire Department
Love the fire house fountain

A big black cloud appeared so we packed up and headed back (by this guy!)
Only took us 8 mins to get back to the room.

These signs always cheer me up!

Joni lying watching the rain, it didn't last too long.

Bonjour Remy!

Time for some more Food & Wine

We had a couple of fastpasses that I booked in earlier today
We headed into Spaceship Earth after swapping our fuel rods for fresh ones

Mission Space was showing a 10 minute wait so Matt and went on the Orange side for a mission to Mars

First food booth was New Zealand. Matt had the Lamb Meatball

I had the venison loin
Both were very good

Eva had the Lamb T-Bone that I had yesterday

Shrimp and scallop cake from Thailand
Eva enjoyed this, I thought it tasted like disinfectant.

Matt stopped at Norway for an Icelandic beer. It was slightly fruity and had no bitter aftertaste

The Peking duck bao bun from the China booth was lovely

I asked Matt to pop over to India to get me a Kingfisher beer while I ate my Chinese bun

Two minutes later he was back as they wouldn't serve him with ID. He got his driving license from Eva's bag only to be turned away again as they now wanted two forms of ID. Luckily Eva had a picture of his passport on her phone and they were fine with that.
Poor Matt had three attempts before he was served a beer (for me) which we reckon was about a third of a pint hahaha

Next booth we tried was Spain
Charcuterie in a cone and paella

Now, I don't know if there was a herb or something in the paella the same as the Thailand dish, but it tasted like disinfectant again to me. Eva loved it so it was definitely me and not the dish.

Hard to see from this photo, but the charcuterie cone had loads of meat, cheese and olives in it. It was fantastic.

Rosa Regale for Eva from Italy (in the bar in the Pavilion, not from the booth)

We then had a browse on our favourite store - Mitsukoshi

They've rearranged the layout in here and expanded it out to the side (this opening is on the right wall if you're coming in from the bottom entrance)

These are jigsaws that could me with their own frame

We grabbed some Kirin beer outside.

Brazil - Pork Belly and Black Beans
The beans were pretty bland but the pork was tasty

Matt had the beef from Belgium
He said it tasted like his mums stewed sausage (we think it was a compliment lol)

Eva had the waffle and devoured it

We couldn't pass France without getting a Grey Goose slush

Last food stop was Canada
Matt had the Filet Mignon. This one is always favourite.

Matt also had the Moosehead from Canada, but it was just too citrusy

He then popped back to Scotland for Bellhaven. Didn't realise it was best he was getting when he ordered two of them haha!

I had the cheddar cheese soup
This was really thick, more like a warm cheese dip. I got tucked into this while waiting for illuminations to begin.
The pretzel roll is a nice addition to the soup this year.
We enjoyed the Illuminations fireworks (though that long bit floating the world out is a bit boring - get on with the fireworks lol!)
The three of us had a fab night at Epcot!

Kids didn't seem to mind us being off without them

I’m really enjoying your trip reports! A quick comment about the disinfectant taste - was it coriander? Apparently it’s a genetic thing that some people find that coriander tastes like soap.
