What can i do about a dangerous dog?
My neighbours dog attacked my cat yesterday and unfortunately he died on the way to the vet. Obviously I'm devastated but really worried as I have 2 other cats. Is there anything I can do about the dog? And if if I report it to rspca will they do anything?

Give the police a call for some advice or the RSPCA. Both I am sure will be able to help you!
Such a shame!

It depends where the attack took place, if in their garden then I don’t think anything can be done.

If thr dog hasnt attacked a human rspca cant do anything.
The dog is protecting his territory. Try keeping your cats indoors? Sorry for your loss xx |

Thanks for the replies, it was in their front garden unfortunately there is only a very small fence between the 2 houses.

How awful for you, sounds a nasty dog. I would try the RSPCA and see what they say, I would be devastated.
What have the neighbours said to you about it all?

I’m sorry for your loss but because it was on their property it wouldn’t be classed as a dangerous dog. A cat is only classed as property under the law at the moment.

Must have been awful for you, from reports I have heard not much can be done as it was on their property. Some breeds are more prone to hunting as such.

Have you spoken to the owner? What did they say?

The neighbours said sorry and offered to have the dog put down. I think they are worried about it as they have recently had a baby.
