Oh no I’ve always enjoyed CG but I have noticed a few bad reviews creeping in lately ...

Atmosphere in the place was flat, everyone seated had been kept waiting probably about 90 mins and there was a queue to speak to management.

We persevered and ordered

Negroni L
Sake Martini R

Bread & sundried tomato olive oil

Starters were good

Beef tortellini

Goats cheese ravioli

Peach salad

Things started to go downhill when the waiter had to be reminded not to plonk chilled white wine down in the middle of the table to go warm and they hit rock bottom while he was looking for a cooler - exactly 2 ours after our adr time I was served sea bass raw in the middle and DW a petite version of DD’s steak hopelessly over cooked.

This is the good steak.

Dishes were returned, manager summoned and we had a lengthy chat about how disappointing the whole evening had been. New dishes were delivered and removed from the bill plus a set of magic fastpssses for 4th in MK

He agreed the table blocking was unacceptable but the decision was made to stop people going up rather than to try and push people into going down.

We’re going back on Friday on the promise of a much improved experience.

Mmm. I have to say I wouldn't have paid for anything even the drinks.
Was the Manager Andre by any chance?

I hope your next meal there is a vast improvement as that was awful.

Sounds awful Al and not the usual standard of the Cali Grill.
Hope you have a better experience on Friday.

I spoke to Scott but there were two on duty maybe the other was Andre? There used to be a guy who looks like Duncan Goodhew but he wasn’t there this time.

Wasn’t brill Cath that’s for sure, I was more peed off that they let people who’d already eaten stop us sitting down. Fingers crossed for Friday. It’s The Wave tonight so hopefully that will be stress free too cos there’s no view to fight over . Eating early and watching fireworks from balcony again with a bottle of wine. )

There’s never an excuse for serving overcooked steak or badly cooked fish but particularly in one of Disney’ Most expensive restaurants... the whole evening sounds totally chaotic. Hopefully tomorrow fares better for you guys 😊

Cali grill dinner was our least favourite meal in May (we did 7 signatures including V&A). Seated on time but took over an hour to get entrees and only had 10 minutes to eat them before HEA started. Server was poor, food was ok but not amazing (bit on the salty side)
