Video Mako vs Manta at SeaWorld Orlando

Seaworld Orlando has some great rides. Two of the best are Mako and Manta.

But which one is the best?

They are two very different rides. Manta is a more compact track with tight twists, rolls and a gut wrenching inside loop.

Mako is a longer track layout with a massive first drop and very fast and undulating jumps. You really feel the weightlessness as you crest the peak of the wave.

Take a look at the video to see the differences.

In true Top Trump style here are some of the facts on the ride.

Height

MANTA - 140ft

MAKO - 200ft

Drop

MANTA - 113ft

MAKO - 200ft

Length

MANTA - 3,359ft

MAKO - 4,760ft

Speed

MANTA - 56mph

MAKO - 73mph

Inversions

MANTA - 4

MAKO - 0

Duration

MANTA - 2:20

MAKO - 1:50

All in all they are very different. Mako is all about speed and that first drop. Mako is the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in any Orlando theme-park. Manta is all about that first 'Pretzel Loop' inversion, which in the horizontal ride position, seems very intense. Followed by another 3 inversions. Two inline twists and a corkscrew.

Which one do I think is best? For me it has to be MAKO. The speed and weightless feeling along with the smoothness of the ride does it for me every time. But you have to try both.

Let me know which is your favourite.
