After watching all 5 episodes, I got more used to the narration style and enjoyed the series for what it is. But I won't lie, I was expecting better...

I went back and watch HM one. While it was a lot better than jungle cruise it could have been so much better. Not too sure who it is aimed at and why they choose the format they did. I will watch tower of terror but thats it. If they had done a serious documentary then I would have watched the others I have less interest in but in this case i can't be bothered with the narration and tone.

There was something about the "Castles" episode that made me think it should have been titled "Space Mountain". Can't put my finger on what it was though...

I've only watched the first 2 episodes and I'm enjoying it even though it's not quite what I imagined - although TBH I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting. As others have said, the Imagineering Story is superior.

I quite like the narration though. I like the jokey quirkiness and find that's the best bit about this. I especially liked all the puns in the Jungle Cruise one. For me, the narration gets my "seal" of approval (arf, arf).

The narration and editing is surprisingly quick and jumpy though and I sometimes wished they've linger a little more on certain things. Also, it's a pity that it's mostly about Disneyland, although that's to be expected considering most of these rides started there. I would've liked to have seen more of the other parks and the versions of the rides around the world, rather than the quick 5 minutes that they get. Finally, I do feel the episodes might benefit from being a little shorter, maybe?

If you set your brain to ‘Channel 5 show’ rather than ‘BBC FOUR documentary’ then it’s an enjoyable series, though I also think something deeper is needed.

There are better documentaries on YouTube - try Yesterworld and Expedition Theme Park.

Behind the attraction

Has anyone else watched this. Its amazing to see how Walt and the original imagineeres / golden club were.

It's a shame it all seems about the money in the parks now. I wonder what Walt would think as he just wanted somewhere for his kids to play.
