I reckon the best place for the hat now would be at the entrance of Fantasmic or you pass under it in the queue line.
As to replace it there is rumours that there gonna dig down and install the stage so when It is needed it will be raised up and lowered when it not needed. As it takes ages to install/remove the stage. So at the moment the hat is going but your view of the theatre could be blocked still if the stage is needed for the Star Wars event.

Edited at 06:58 AM.

If I recall correctly it still says Eurodisney on one of the train carriages.

Yeah! But at least that would be temporary.

I too wonder what icon they will now use in it's place to represend Hollywood Studios.

A shame in one wway but it will be nice that it is no longer blocking the views of the park.

The sets of Christmas ornaments for sale in November had Cinderella Castle, Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth ... and the Earful Tower. Draw your own conclusions.

On another place - there are photos of 'the hat' now fenced off and ready for the surgical removal starting asap
As for the Earful tower being the park icon - rather ironic that it again becomes a park signature just months after the backlot tour closed too
