Dear god, I feel for the OP if its Jersey Week. We went one year Jersey Week, Week ... ha ha ! the whole 2 weeks were horrendous for crowds... most people said they have only experienced a slight increase... those 2 weeks we went... we walked out of most of the parks by 2 or 3 in the afternoon which is unheard of as we always used to be forced out closing time, the crowds were unbearable.
We went this September which we always thought of as a quiet time and were still amazed how busy it was. I really don't think you ever get a real quiet time now.

Agree.
We were there 9th October for two weeks. First time in October and the last for us. Crowds were ridiculous. Worse than it was in July. Everywhere was rammed. Announcements in TL that there were more guests in the park than there were seats. Not only were the rides and attractions busy (alleviated partly by FP+ ) but what bothered us most was the fact that eating places in the parks, and Starbucks etc were crowded out to the extent if you queued up and got a meal there was nowhere to sit. You don't want to be balancing a tray on your knee sat on a wall in a crowded walkway! Now THAT was very disheartening. Luckily we had a car and just left the parks and ate at resorts. Never again in October for us. We thought July was manic but this was worse.

We have used the dibb busy day guide and had no problems so far (starting our 2nd week now) - not queued for longer than 25 minutes. Luck of the draw I guess!

Crazy Crowds
Tuesday, they got it wrong again !
Jersey week is not this big thing they say. Yeah some people come in the N.J school holidays, but most of the crowds are not. It's the marathon, it's the food and drink festival, it's the fact that that annual pass holders can use passes (not blackout weeks) it's the Epcot concerts, it's free food for the Americans. It's all the things Disneyworld have done to make a quiet time of year, VERY BUSY. It's worked ! They are a business, they don't want quiet times, and their business model is working. The quiet times are disappearing, and are becoming as busy as Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, there are fewer, and fewer not so busy times now. That is what Disney want, an even spread of high crowds, and it's working. The crowds have, over the last few years been increasing year on year, and continue to do so. Touring plans got it wrong again yesterday, on a regular Tuesday in November. MK was a predicted 5, was actually an 8 Epcot was a predicted 5 was actually a 9! The quiet spells have gone, well done Disney. You have increased turnover, but lost the Magic ! When you can do 3 fastpasses a day, struggle to get to them, see very little of the wonderful surroundings, because it the sheer numbers of people, fight to get something to eat, and then not be able to sit. Disney has always been a money making business corporation, but they made the profits from being Magical ! But in searching year on year, for a not just an increase in profits, but a MASSIVE increase, Disneyworld is losing the Magic fast. It's just another theme park, that's losing it's Magical theme ! It's easier if you are a couple, but it you are a family unit with 2-3 or more kids, a pushchair, you don't stand a chance ! Edited at 01:49 PM. |

Excited about Disney

That's interesting to know that you found it worse than July as we've never gone in July because of crowds, but if this is becoming the casein October then July is looking more attractive!
TL was a nightmare when it was heaving I agree. And yes the queue for Starbucks going down Main Street with a desperate cast member trying to get everybody to line up nicely! And having to queue up to get into the shops -now that was mad! |

We visited 1-15 Nov 2014 and Jersey Week was no problem. Yes, every other person you chatted to had a NJ accent and some were a bit boisterous, but they were friendly and certainly not rude.
We avoided the F&W marathon weekend - Saturday we noticed DTD was quite busy with people strolling around with drinks, but no trouble. F&W in the week was lovely. Stayed at Universal on 10th/11th to get FOLP and early entry. Universal had a Veteran Parade on 11th but the park was deserted. MK was apparently rammed though.

Yes, and at least in July both waterparks are open plus the parks are open later (I think? don't quote me! ) with no MK early closures for MNSSHP.

It also doesn't help as the parks close earlier and the huge amount of parties.
